Setting up IntelliJ IDEA for RSPeer Script Development

Thank you Yasper, very cool!

Great tutorial, thanks for creating it :ok_hand:

Quick note: those VM args are not required anymore I believe.

You’re right. Left them out.

Thanks, solid guide. Only hiccup was the 5 seconds it took me to notice the “Local Scripts” checkbox for Step 13:

Oh, good call will update the post to reflect this change

Maybe add the part of adding the java args to the Boot config otherwise people will probably experience the outofmemory exception.

@ryndom-white-dude Looks like you have setup the dependencies incorrect. Can you post a screenshot of Ctrl Alt Shift s then go to Modules, then dependencies.

@ryndom-white-dude Yeah as I thought, you included the launcher when what you need to include is “rspeer.jar” the client acts as a stub for rspeer.jar

Remove both those rspeer-launcher entries and then click the + sign on the right and go to C:\Users\Documents\RSPeer\cache

rspeer.jar should be in there, add it and click apply then rebuild.

not finding rspeer.jar nor do i have a folder in my documents caled RSPeer looked through laucher bs and still couldn’t find it

@ryndom-white-dude You have launched the client and logged in right? otherwise the cache won’t exist.

@root nothing happens when I click rs-peer launcher which im assuming it downloads the rspeer jar so ive been trying to figure out how to launch it in admin mode but im a vegetable when it comes to java

@ryndom-white-dude Download the JDK for your OS and Architecture https://dereferer.me/?http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html

Then run the client and follow the instructions I gave.

@root yeah ive gotten a script in power bot to run and already download all the jdk/jre stuff, guess ill just keep using that one since i cant even get rspeer to install itself… even tried installing java again and still doesn’t run when i click launcher scuffed af

Come on man, read the error. It’s telling you exactly what’s wrong! Your java class isn’t named TestScript.java

  • facepalm * ty

u should set the rspeer jar dependency as provided instead of compiled.

i cant seam to find the 1.8 java SDK? its just coming up with I haven’t got one in there
