RSPeer Launcher Beta Testing

Hello all, I will soon be releasing some updates to the launcher to combine both the bot management panel, dependency downloading, and normal client launching into one convenient package.

This launcher will allow you to launch clients normally or with a proxy with one simple button and not have to worry about configuring the bot management panel.

Features

  • Link key is not required anymore, your account is automatically linked when you log in.
  • Bot Management Panel is integrated by default.
  • Automatically downloads our recommended Java bundle and the latest client jar.
  • Does not require Java to run.
  • Supports simple client launching with a proxy to your current pc or another pc that is running the launcher. No need to configure the Bot Panel.
  • Improved and visible success and error logging
  • Runs as an actual desktop application so you can close it properly via the task menu icon.
  • Does not pop up an ugly command prompt window on startup. :relaxed:
  • Supports quick launch JSON files natively. (https://forums.rspeer.org/topic/38/how-to-use-quick-start-arguments-with-the-launcher)
  • Automatically logs you into bot management panel.
  • Automatically sets itself up if you run it with quick launch args. (This includes downloading java, rspeer client, etc.)

To make sure this launcher is completely full proof and easy to use. All I ask of you is to use it and report any bugs/issues you have experienced. If you feel some areas do not have decent UX, please let me know. I welcome all feedback.

Yessir, I really like it so far.

Added linux links.

Would you ever integrate more features from the bot management panel like seeing active clients or would you always really want that separate? Also managing proxy settings, like being able to select from a list of stored proxies in the the launcher.

It’s just kind of how much you want to keep it strictly a lightweight launcher or have it as an AIO launcher/management control panel.

Yeah thats something I had planned, but not in the first iteration. Probably later after inuvation launch.

Will you still allow for launching clients without this launcher? As described here: http://forums.rspeer.org/topic/40/how-to-use-quick-start-args-with-the-client-without-the-launcher

Yes of course, no functionality is being removed.

Extremely minor thing, when filling in the fields to start a new client little x’s appear to the far right that I assume are meant to clear the field but currently they don’t do anything. Also when selecting the number of clients to start at the beginning sometimes it has a up/down arrow to the right however this doesn’t work either and is a bit buggy.

Updates:

Fixed quick launch not auto starting upon first login.
Added ability to choose java 11, java 8, or custom java installation.

Official download link has been updated to this launcher, thanks all!
